The Book Club meets the last Thursday of every other month. A selection list of approximately twenty books is complied from The New York Times Best Seller List, The San Jose Mercury News Best Seller List, Barnes and Noble web site and input from the group. Each member chooses their top 3 and the book with the most choices is the one selected as the next read. The books we have read so far:

The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs
Loving Frank by Nancy Horan

Food & Wine Group
The Food and Wine group does not have a set time when they meet. It was set-up to attend wine tasting, take cooking classes, bake and cook together and enjoy some food tours in the Bay Area. We went on the Mangia Tour in San Francisco where we tasted Foccacia Bread at an old Italian bakery and delicious cured Italian meats at a deli, as well as a tour of the Joe Di Maggio restaurant and kitchen ending with lunch. We also went to the Grapevine wine bar on Lincoln Avenue for Bite Size Gooey Grilled Cheese sandwiches and wine. Check the calendar for dates and times.
Our garden group has outings two to three times a year to various beautiful homes and gardens in the Bay Area. Most recent tours have been to Hakone Japanese Gardens in Saratoga, the Elizabeth Gamble home and garden in Palo Alto, and to the Filoli Gardens in Woodside.

The hiking group goes on local walks and hikes in the Bay Area. The Los Gatos trail and Almaden trails are two of the areas this group has explored. Check the calendar for dates and times.
Movies & Theater Goers
The movie group meets once a month to see the latest releases of what we like to refer to as "chick flicks". These are the movies our husbands don't usually want to see! Also, depending on the time of the year, we will be attending plays at Presentation High School, listen to a female speaker in downtown San Jose at the Unique Lives series or see a seasonal performance that is directed toward women. Check the calendar for dates and times.
