With nearly half the student body participating in Presentation High School athletics, our athletes deserve nothing less than the best when it comes to sports facilities. And in the past 10 years, the best has come to be.
In 2005, the varsity soccer team opened its season for the first time on its own home territory, the Mani Hernandez Field. This premiere playing facility features a regulation-sized field made of synthetic turf that looks and feels like natural grass but is durable enough to withstand harsh weather and year-round play. The combination field is home to our award-winning soccer, field hockey and softball teams.
One year later, a 30-meter pool was built to house our swim, dive and water polo teams. The pool boasts an energy-saving cogeneration unit, which uses natural gas to produce 65 percent of the electricity used by the school. The byproduct of this process is heat, which keeps the swimming pool at a comfortable temperature in the winter. The swim complex includes office space for coaches, as well as storage and restroom facilities. The pool is also the site of Physical Education classes and summer sports programs.
A separate celebration area connects the venues and creates a welcoming arena for students, faculty and teams to congregate.
Most recently, the athletics complex was renovated to create an athletic training center. The center features dedicated areas for first aid, taping and rehabilitation, as well as a hydrotherapy room that houses two whirlpool tubs and an ice machine.
