Theater & Arts Development Association
If you have ever attended a performance in the Valenzuela Theater, you have met members of TADA! Perhaps in the box office, or as ushers, or as one of the many volunteers who make our productions run smoothly. If you ever had a student participate in Performing Arts at Presentation – as a theater performer or crew member, a member of the choir or band, or a dancer – you probably worked alongside a TADA! volunteer.
Since its inception in 2003, TADA! has been organized by a board of volunteers who oversee all aspects of our Performing Arts Program. Members coordinate the building of original sets and costumes for our mainstage productions, run the lobby for all performances, and – like any great booster group – they raise money to improve our technological capabilities and enhance our productions. Each year, TADA! also puts on a special theater production to raise money for our program, providing money for new tools and materials to keep our exemplary performing arts program humming along into the future.
Blue Plaid Players
Since 2005 TADA! has produced an annual musical show to raise money for our Performing Arts Department. So many talented alumnae, faculty, parents and friends have been a Blue Plaid Player over the years, lovingly giving of their time and talent to create entertaining shows that thrill audience after audience. What a great way to stay connected to the Presentation community! Previous performances include “If my Friends Could See Me Now” (2006), an Irving Berlin revue (2007), a Frank Sinatra revue (2008), a Mickey Rooney-Judy Garland revue (2009), “Godspell” (2010), and 2011's sell-out sensation "Little Shop of Horrors."
Become a Member
Want to become a member of TADA!? Of course you do. The energy of this group is infectious, and you may find yourself starting to enjoy your participation in sewing, painting, and fundraising. In creating environments where students learn and create. This may lead to waves of excessive pride as you watch your student dance on a platform you helped construct or decorate. The theater is a magical place, even when there is no live production happing on the stage. That magic continues for us when the worklights are on, and a team of dedicated volunteers gather to support their students. TADA! makes all this happen and more. What would we do without TADA!? A lot less.
