SAN JOSE, Calif., October 27, 2020 – Presentation High School today announced that Katrina Carter will be taking over as new head coach of the school’s Field Hockey program. Katrina brings a wealth of field hockey playing and coaching knowledge and her energy surrounding the growth of women’s field hockey in the Bay Area will serve the youth in our Pres community greatly.
Coach Carter comes to Pres with fourteen years of playing experience and seven years of coaching experience. Previously, Coach Carter attended UC Berkeley where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree while playing Division I field hockey for the Golden Bears. She was named to the All-Rookie team, All- Tournament team and First Team All-League, amongst other awards, during her playing career at UC Berkeley; while also representing the United States on the USA Women’s U21 National team. For the past two years Coach Carter has been a representative on the USA Women’s Development team and was also a recipient of the Joel Ferrell Memorial Award for Outstanding Performance which recognizes the athletic ability and sportsmanship of an athlete representing their sport at the AAU Junior Olympic Games.
Coach Carter has been coaching with the USA Futures Program for the past seven years and is currently a USAFH Certified Level II head coach. She has also previously coached for Impact, Infinity and San Jose Fly field hockey clubs as well as various collegiate summer camps and camps associated with All American Field Hockey across the country.

I am a motivated and dedicated coach who is eager to expand on Pres’s legacy of success by developing a fun, safe and challenging environment that focuses on individualized coaching for coordinative team success.”

Presentation has a long and storied athletic tradition of success. With 12 sports offered, more than half of the Presentation student body participates in the Presentation athletic program. Student-athletes compete in the WCAL (West Catholic Athletic League) and the SCVAL (Santa Clara Valley Athletic League). As of August 2020, Presentation has accumulated four CIF State Individual Championships, two CIF State Team Championships, four Nor Cal Championships, 48 CCS (Central Coast Section) Championships, and 126 League Championships.
