Presentation Robotics Coach, Jeff Mullins, is Awarded Outstanding Mentor at the KLA RoboGames

San Jose, CA -- On Thursday, July 30, 2020, KLA RoboGames awarded robotics coach, Jeff Mullins, “Outstanding Mentor” at the 2020 Awards ceremony. This award celebrates an outstanding adult mentor who best leads, inspires, teaches, and empowers the team.

Nominated by our robotics team, Presentation Invasion (2135), students described Mr. Mullins as a “genuine, dedicated, inspirational mentor, and the driving force of the team.” Leading an all-female team of 65, Mr. Mullins’ leadership is prominent throughout. He holds leadership seminars and oversees weekly leadership meetings, motivating students to take on various leadership roles.

“Mr. Mullins taught us that we don’t need to know everything to lead; we just need to be willing to search for the answer,” said one Robotics student.  In addition, his leadership “helps us build confidence to succeed in STEM, inspiring us to apply what we have learned to better solve problems independently.”

The robotics team has been keeping busy all summer, meeting virtually through Zoom. They have been working on nine on-going summer projects, led by student leaders and mentors in areas including mechanical design, software, electrical, training and marketing. You will also find the team getting together just to spend time, play games, or hang out online.

Congratulations, Mr. Mullins, thank you for empowering our students to learn, grow, and lead. And, special thanks to our robotics mentors and our Pres students who contribute much of their time, energy, and passion to the program.
