The Board of Directors are responsible for formulating policy consistent with the mission and vision of Presentation High School, fiduciary oversight, long-term sustainability and strategic planning, and legal compliance.

As a Board, we believe in Pres' vision of empowering young women to become fearless and faithful leaders. We are committed to protecting all students – past, present, and future. 

 

Biographies

Suzanne Sawochka '84 Hooper,
Chair
 

A Pres alumni (‘84), Suzanne is an experienced executive and Board member with more than 25 years of corporate leadership and sophisticated legal experience. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of NGM Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., where she serves as a member of the Board’s Audit Committee and Chair of its Compensation Committee.  Suzanne served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc from 2012 to 2019. Previously, Suzanne was a partner in the Cooley LLP law firm, where she practiced corporate and securities law from 1996 to 2012. 

Suzanne looks forward to contributing her business, governance and legal expertise as Pres plans for its future. Suzanne enjoys running, the beach in Santa Barbara and travel anywhere.




Dawn Guerreiro '90 McCale,
Vice Chair

Dawn has been involved with Pres the majority of her life and grew up just down the street on Plummer Avenue. She graduated from Pres in 1990 and is the proud mother of Alli, who graduated from Pres in 2018 and Chris, who attends Bellarmine.

Most recently a member of the Mission & Catholic Identity committee, Dawn enjoys participating in Pres activities and planning. She is most excited to help the Board of Directors take Pres into the next evolution of faith-based education. Dawn likes hiking, concerts, audiobooks, stand-up paddle boarding and floating in the pool.




Dave Anderson
Dave is the proud father of an alumna from the Class of 2012 and a San Jose native. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1985 and is a partner at a national CPA firm. He has volunteered at various non-profit organizations in the Santa Clara Valley over the past 25+ years. At Presentation, he has been volunteering since 2008 by serving on the Parent Board and the Board of Trustees. Dave also helped coach Junior Varsity Golf at Presentation for seven seasons.

 

In his free time, Dave is an avid golfer who enjoys barbequing and watching sports with his wife and their adult children.




Greg Baker

 

Greg is a passionate proponent of the Catholic education system and Catholic social teaching, and his youngest daughter is a recent graduate of Pres. He is a professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University where he is Executive Director of the Center for Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

In his spare time, Greg enjoys hiking, downhill skiing, travel and photography.




Liz Cali ’01

“The Pres experience is an essential part of my story. I’m excited to rejoin the community as a Board member and help to ensure future generations of girls are able to experience Pres.”

Liz returns to Pres as an adept educational leader, having spent the majority of her career serving middle school students. Liz is passionate about experiential, hands-on learning and knows the importance of creating and cultivating a positive school culture. She believes that stepping outside the four walls of the classroom allows students to uncover their own strengths and enables them to learn to truly value the strengths of their peers. She is looking forward to bringing her unique skill set to the Pres community. Liz can often be found hiking in the redwoods, planning her next adventure with her partner and kids, or reading a book in her hammock. 




Steve Carter

“I am a firm believer in single-sex education for young women. Research continues to demonstrate the benefits this environment fosters in the enhanced development of young women–intellectually, emotionally, and psychologically.”

Steve has been involved with Presentation High School and the Sisters of the Presentation in various capacities since the late 1970s.

Now retired after a 47-year career as a CPA in public practice, he has served on numerous Finance and Audit Committees for various nonprofit organizations.

Currently, Steve is a lecturer in Accounting at his alma mater, Santa Clara University, gaining first-hand experience in the educational process.

He looks forward to supporting Presentation High School with his extensive knowledge of nonprofit accounting and his new experiences as an educator.

In his spare time, Steve officiates football at both the high school and junior college levels. He and his wife enjoy running, pickleball, and spending time with their two young grandchildren.




Natasha Dalzell Martinez ’88

 

Natasha is a Presentation alumna and veteran strategy and operations executive with 20 years of experience in complex and rapidly evolving corporations across a variety of industries, including education, AI, healthcare and finance.

Natasha is passionate about building and leading highly collaborative teams and structuring organizations to meet aggressive goals and timelines.
 
The avid reader, photographer and globetrotter attended UC Berkeley, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and New York University, and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Opera Guild.




Hugo De La Torre

 

Hugo is currently the Chief Accounting Executive at DocuSign, where he enjoys incorporating the Pres motto “Not Words, But Deeds” every chance he can. His experience spans software as a service, semiconductor & computer system industries. He spent his early years with Big Four firms, thrives in dynamic environments, and enjoys being a progressive leader scaling companies in periods of hypergrowth. 

Hugo and his wife Maria are the parents of Alana ’16 and Maya ’19. He believes the many years of volunteering on the Parent Board have prepared him well for this next chapter. Hugo is all about enjoying life’s journey, particularly food, wine and travel.




Tina Franklin P’22

"I'm thrilled to be a new Pres Board member and inspired to contribute to a school that teaches students to Be Well and Do Well.”

Tina credits her own Catholic education for her passion for mindfulness, lifelong learning, community, and giving back. She and her husband Andy knew they wanted the same type of faith-based education for their children and are proud parents of Grace ‘22 and Grant (Bellarmine alum ’22).

Tina has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources building, developing, and leading high-performing teams to define goals and deliver results at several Fortune 500 companies. She looks forward to bringing her leadership and development, community building, and philanthropy expertise to the table as Pres evolves and transforms to meet the needs of students, parents, and faculty. 

In her spare time, Tina enjoys sharing great food and stories with friends and family, traveling, cheering on her favorite sports teams, attending book club, and attempting to train the new family puppy, Jalapeno.




Nanci Kauffman

“Today more than ever, the world needs talented and courageous women to step into leadership roles. At Pres, girls become women who are ready to take on the challenges of the future.”

Nanci has spent her entire career educating girls to become confident learners and compassionate leaders. She served in a variety of teaching and administrative roles at Marymount School of New York and Castilleja School in Palo Alto. Most recently, she served as Head of Castilleja School for 12 years.

Now, Nanci is a Senior Director at CCS Fundraising, where she empowers non-profit leaders to raise the funds they need to transform their institutions. She also serves on the Board of Field, the all-boys middle school in Belmont. As a Pres Board member, she is eager to support the many initiatives that will shape the future of the school.

Nanci and her husband love to travel when they aren’t busy with the families of their two married children and their two grandchildren.




Father Tony Mancuso

Father Tony Mancuso, a cherished figure within the Catholic education community, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role as a new board member. With a background serving as Presentation High School's Chaplain in the 1990s, coupled with his current positions as Vicar for Priests in the San Jose Diocese and chaplain at Saint Francis High School, Father Tony embodies a deep commitment to spiritual growth and academic excellence.

His extensive experience, particularly as a former campus minister at Archbishop Mitty High School, underscores his unwavering dedication to fostering Catholic identity, inclusion, and fundraising within educational settings. He is also a longtime friend and supporter of the Sisters of the Presentation.

As a board member, Father Tony's broad understanding of the Catholic schools in our region, coupled with his passion for our mission, ensures his invaluable contribution to advancing our school's commitment to excellence in education and spiritual formation.




Nanette Miller

“Young women today need every advantage to be successful and the foundation for that is a great education. Presentation High School provides that quality faith-based education.”
 
A Pres alumnae from another city but still grounded in the Presentation Charism, Nanette is a retired CPA and partner of a national CPA firm. Having been on several of the Sisters of the Presentation committees and trust, she brings her knowledge of faith-based institutions, finance and governance to the Pres Community. As Pres moves into the future, she is excited to be part of the board team involved in overseeing the present and planning of the future.




Allison Mull P’23

“Not Words, But Deeds – Nano Nagle’s inspirational mantra continues to inspire and guide the next generation of female leaders at Presentation. I am excited to join Presentation’s Board of Directors to help support the school and its important mission.”

A proud mother of a Pres graduate (Alexandra ‘23), Allison is an accomplished legal executive with over 25 years of experience working with leading technology companies, including Meta Platforms, Inc. (formerly Facebook, Inc.), eBay and PayPal. Allison has deep expertise in helping businesses and organizations grow, evolve, and scale through innovative business partnerships and optimized operations. She is also an active volunteer and has worked with several nonprofits over the years, including Second Harvest and the National Charity League (an organization of mothers and daughters serving their communities together). Allison looks forward to partnering with Presentation’s leadership team to support the school, its mission and the broader Presentation community. In her spare time, Allison enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, cooking, and traveling.




Mimi Niemiller '77

 

Mimi attended Santa Clara University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Math & Computer Science, before she went to work in the tech industry. While working, she returned to SCU for an MBA and a master's degree in Liturgical Music. Mimi worked in high tech until April 2020 when she finished her career as an R&D Director at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. She currently works part-time at Sunnyvale Community Services.

Over the years, Mimi continued to support Presentation’s mission, most recently joining the Board of Trustees (2019-2020.) Mimi is also a liturgical musician at St. Christopher Church and a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence. In addition to spending time training her puppy, Mimi enjoys traveling and watching both San Francisco and San Jose Giants baseball.
 




Michele Novotney P’21 P’23

 

“A proud graduate of an all-girl Catholic High School in the Bay Area, I am an enthusiastic advocate of the education and community at Pres. I look forward to joining the Pres community as a Board member to support Pres’ future for years to come.”

A parent of two Pres alums (Lauren ’21) and (Ashley ’23), Michele is an attorney and active member of the community. Previously, Michele was a partner at the Law Firm of McManis Faulkner, where she practiced family law from 2001–2014. A graduate of Santa Clara University and Santa Clara University School of Law, she also clerked at McManis Faulkner from 1998–2001. She currently is still involved at the firm as a consultant. Michele loves the outdoors and spends as much time as she can traveling with her family!




Mike Pope

 

Mike currently is a co-founder and senior partner of HealthLens, LLC, an online telemedicine platform that allows patients to receive diagnosis and treatment anytime, anywhere. Previously, he was Senior Partner at Olliance Group, a strategic open source consulting group, and held various senior management positions at Intel Corporation. He also served as Vice President and General Manager of Daisy Systems as a Corporate Officer and Business Line General Manager. 

Mike graduated from Cornell University with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He and his spouse Vicki are parents to Kathleen ‘08 and have a long-standing commitment to community service and Catholic education. 

Mike has previously served on and chaired several non-profit boards, including Sacred Heart Community Service, HomeFirst of Santa Clara County, Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, the Peninsula College Fund and the Intel Alumni Network.

“I love Pres for what it has provided for my wife and three daughters. Joining the Pres Board is my way of showing gratitude not through words, but through deeds!”

A proud husband to an alumna, Mary Schneck ’87, and father of three Pres graduates, Caitlin ’21, Anna ’22, and Lauren ’24. Brad is a technology business leader holding roles in partner business development, product management, and business operations throughout his 25-year career. Brad is currently with BigID where he leads global partner development with companies such as Snowflake, SAP, and HPE. Previously, Brad ran Technology Alliances for Veritas. Brad formed his passion for building partnerships in ‘start-up’ business units at Cisco where he held product line management roles in emerging businesses including IP Telephony, IoT, and SmartGrid.  

In his spare time, Brad has volunteered for four years on the Pres Panther Fund Committee and participated on the Pres Parent Booster Committee. He also led Budget & Finance, and Personnel & Administration Committees for the Stone Church of Willow Glen. Outside of work, Brad is a lifelong ice hockey player, plays in a neighborhood band, and enjoys the great outdoors with his family.
