About the Math Department:

Position Summary
Presentation High School in San Jose, California is seeking an instructor to join the Math Department as a long-term substitute for portions of the current Fall semester 2023 and Spring semester beginning in February 2024. The substitute will be responsible for teaching high-school level math courses to students in grades 9-12 and class assignments include Statistics and AP Statistics.
Duties and Specific Responsibilities

Position Summary
Support existing Speech & Debate staff and students in the program by facilitating after school student practices, chaperoning, judging and coaching at weekend tournaments throughout the 2023-24 season (August-May).
Duties and Specific Responsibilities
General
- Inspire, motivate, and teach students specific skills related to debate
- Build positive character traits and relationships with students
- Provide large, small group setting and individualized coaching opportunities
- Work closely with and support the Director of Speech & Debate in various aspects of debate programming
- Ensure the safety and well being of all students by adhering to all rules and regulations for traveling/representing Presentation HS off campus.

Position Summary
The Advancement Assistant works with the Chief Advancement Officer in managing the daily affairs of the CAO with regard to the Development & Engagement Team (D&E) within the Advancement Department including calendars, written correspondence, expense reports, e-mail, files and other duties as assigned. This individual will be responsible for correspondence with donors and vendors that is accurate, courteous and efficiently managed. Additionally, the assistant will be responsible for helping the CAO with financial data reporting to the Board of Directors and Advancement committee and assisting with departmental activities in donor stewardship.
Duties and Specific Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support to the CAO and as needed, administrative support to the D&E team. Financial department reporting to the Business Office, Advancement committee and Annual Report.
- Serves as the Advancement Committee liaison responsible for preparation of the meeting deck by collecting from and disseminating information to Committee members; Records meeting minutes.
- Provides support for the CAO, Advancement team as necessary and performs other duties as assigned. This includes event support as needed: providing support before, during and after specified school events. (Summer Socials, Fall Event, Fall Coffee Chats, Mother/Daughter Brunch & Mass, etc.)
- Assists in the implementation of donor stewardship activities (email, phone and print outreach, meetings, etc.) in coordination with the Development Services Manager and the Community Relations Manager
- Leads efforts and coordinates partners and resources for Christmas card mailing
- Assists Community Relations Manager with volunteer security clearance process and management of the information related to.

● Two years of college

Fundraising at Presentation High School
The Development and Engagement team at Presentation has adopted a three-lanes approach to our fundraising efforts with each lane representing an important phase of the giving experience that a donor moves through as they support our organization. The three-lanes approach is not a rigid prescriptive plan but rather a below-the-surface understanding of how effective fundraising really works. The three lanes align the strengths and capabilities of individuals who share a collective responsibility to advancing the mission of the organization and responsibility for creating a thriving fundraising operation.
Position Summary
The Individual Philanthropy Officer - creates a culture of giving through the cultivation of relationships with the school’s key stakeholders. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), and in collaboration with Board Members, parents, and other major donors, this high-capacity fundraising professional will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward relationships with individuals for whom the school’s mission and vision is of significant meaning and value. The Philanthropy Officer will align his or her focused efforts with the broader, volunteer efforts and the Board of Directors strategic, long-term efforts.
The Philanthropy Officer assumes primary responsibility for developing and stewarding a network of Presentation’s individual donors capable of making significant charitable commitments to the organization. The network will consist of individuals representing student families, extended families, friends of the school, Board members, corporations and foundations. The Philanthropy Officer will create and implement engagement strategies for all portfolio donors and routinely review these engagement strategies with the CAO. In addition to their ability to work independently, the Philanthropy Officer will collaborate with the Office of the President, Education Team Leaders, Board members, and major donors in developing and implementing engagement and solicitation strategies.
Duties and Specific Responsibilities
- This individual will be expected to consistently represent the school in a variety of settings with a knowledge and understanding of school activities and growth. The Philanthropy Officer will consistently interact with, cultivate and solicit key stakeholders who will expect that the Philanthropy Officer will be highly-responsive to their interests and concerns.
- The Philanthropy Officer will be expected to maintain a strategic focus on engagement with those individuals within the network. This individual will be expected to spend the majority of his or her time directly or indirectly with these donors. This individual will have limited administrative responsibilities and no supervisory expectations so as to ensure the greatest ROI.
- As a high-capacity fundraising professional, it will be expected that this individual achieves measurable performance in the development of a donor portfolio, donor engagement, direct solicitation, charitable gifts received and renewal rates.

Position Summary
Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach, for the season beginning January 30, 2023 and ending May 27, 2023. This position will be responsible for running the Lacrosse Program at Presentation, which consists of a varsity level team.
Duties and Specific Responsibilities
- Schedule games, scrimmages and practices for the Lacrosse program
- Teach and enhance fundamental skills and techniques, as well as advanced techniques in the sport.
- Attend all team practices and games (Mon-Fri afternoons. Some Saturday commitments.)
- Coordinate management of on-site events for all levels with the Athletic Department
- Attend Athletic meetings as required, including Coaches meetings and season parent meetings
- Participate in all regional and sectional playoffs to which team is entitled
- Report all game results to Athletic Department
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate behavior on the part of athletes at practices, games and in transit to and from events
- Abide by all WCAL and CIF-CCS rules and regulations and attend meetings as required

The Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach must be able to:
- Lift and/or carry all sports specific equipment required to effectively run and organize training and competition
- Sit, stand, walk, climb stairs or ladder, reach, perform repetitive movements
- Work with frequent interruptions
- Also, considerable time is spent at a desk using a computer terminal.
- Afternoon, evening, and weekend hours are typical for all coaching roles.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described below represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:
Active work environment on a field, in a gym, or in a fitness room. Some time will be spent working on email, but most of the work will take place actively training students and the team.

Supervises: Assistant and JV level coaches, in partnership with AD

Position Summary
Head Varsity Softball Coach, for the season beginning January 29, 2024, and ending around May 18, 2024. This position will be responsible for running the Softball Program at Presentation, which consists of the varsity team.
Duties and Specific Responsibilities
- Schedule games, scrimmages, and practices for the program
- Teach and enhance fundamental skills and techniques, as well as advanced techniques in the sport.
- Attend all team practices and games (Mon-Fri afternoons. Many Saturday commitments.)
- Coordinate management of on-site events for all levels with the Athletic Department
- Attend Athletic meetings as required, including Coaches meetings and parent meetings
- Participate in all regional and sectional playoffs to which team is entitled
- Report all game results to Athletic Department
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate behavior on the part of athletes at practices, games and in transit to and from events
- Abide by all WCAL and CIF-CCS rules and regulations and attend meetings as required
- Prioritize an environment of safety for our student athletes and provide first aid when required
- Manage and maintain program equipment
- Coordinate season-end awards program
- Attend school functions related to promotion of Athletic programs (ie: Open House)
Education & Experience
- Experience playing competitive softball preferred
- Experience teaching softball skills and strategies that apply to the skill level of the players
- Professional dedication to athletic development and expertise in coaching
- Knowledge of appropriate safety measures to ensure the well-being of players
- CPR/First Aid certification
- CIF - Fundamentals of Coaching Certification required

Work Environment
This position is an active teaching role, spent working outdoors on a pool deck supervising children. Some office work will also be required.
