You're Invited to Our Community Listening Sessions

We continue to listen and learn from members of our community and are committed to ensuring that everyone in our community feels valued and welcome. We will not tolerate racism or hatred of any kind and also understand that systemic change does not happen overnight. To that end, we are working carefully to build specific plans to address any systems, policies, or practices at Presentation that might promote racism or biases.

There are many conversations happening and many voices to be heard in this important work. And, we want to make sure that your voices are reflected in our plans for change.

We invite any student, alumnae, parent, or faculty/staff member who experienced racism at Presentation to attend a listening session this week:

  • Alumnae: Thursday, 6/11 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
  • Current Students: Wednesday, 6/10 from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
  • Parents/Guardians: Wednesday, 6/10 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Presentation Faculty/Staff: Thursday, 6/11 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

RSVP to attend here by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 6/9 so that we can ensure an appropriate number of facilitators. If the above time/date does not work for you, please indicate that on the form and we'll work to schedule another time to meet with you. Also, we are committed to hosting a Spanish-speaking session for parents in the near future. You may indicate your interest in attending this particular session on the RSVP form.

The purpose of these sessions is to create brave, safe spaces for our community members who have experienced racism to share personal experiences, ask questions, and provide suggestions to leadership. This will be the first of many opportunities, and we hope that this is the beginning of an on-going dialogue with our community.

We also welcome conversations with any members of our community who would like to contact us directly or through our feedback form. We are committed to providing ways to make sure that all voices are heard so that we can grow in understanding and continue to take action.
