Holly Elkins joined Presentation High School as President in 2019 with a deep passion for empowering young women through faith-based education. She is committed to making Catholic education sustainable, accessible, and excellent. Her leadership is evident in her daily interactions—whether engaging with students and families, enhancing student wellness and academic success, or strengthening connections with alumnae and the broader community.

Holly’s vision is to position Presentation as the region’s leading Catholic high school for young women. She is dedicated to exceptional programming, balanced growth, and a strong foundation in faith, service, and academic excellence. Under her leadership, the school continues to honor the Presentation charism while expanding opportunities for students of all academic abilities and ensuring financial accessibility.

She has led the development of innovative student programs and reinforced the school’s commitment to holistic student growth through the Be Well. Do Well. initiative. Above all, Holly is known for her student-centered leadership, dedication to the school’s mission, and ability to unite the community in support of Presentation’s future.

With nearly 25 years of experience in Catholic education, Holly has held a variety of leadership roles, including 18 years at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, CA, where she led advancement, counseling, and admissions initiatives. Her work in strategic planning, mission-driven philanthropy, and community engagement has shaped her commitment to making transformative education accessible to all students.

A proud graduate of Catholic schools, Holly earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Villanova University and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco. She is grateful to the Presentation Sisters, Holy Cross Brothers, Augustinians, and Jesuits who shaped her educational philosophy and vision, and she remains deeply committed to the mission of Catholic education.

Holly lives in San Jose with her husband, David, their children, Jack and Millie, and their two cats, Buster and Lucy. A member of St. Christopher’s Parish, she enjoys fostering connections between Catholic schools, families, and the greater community while championing opportunities for young women to thrive.

The President Principal Model

At Presentation, the President and Principal work together to provide strong, mission-driven leadership. The President focuses externally, strengthening relationships with families, alumnae, donors, and the broader community while overseeing fundraising, enrollment management, and the school’s financial health and long term sustainability. They also lead strategic planning to ensure Pres continues to thrive for generations to come.

The Principal manages the daily operations of the school, including academics, student life, faculty, and curriculum development. As the academic leader, the Principal ensures excellence in instruction and student learning while supporting students in their personal and academic growth. This dual leadership model allows each leader to focus on their area of expertise, fostering collaboration and a well-rounded approach to school management that balances both internal and external priorities.

The Executive Leadership Team
