Sports camps at Presentation are designed for a variety of experience levels and age groups. Some camp offerings are girls-only, others are co-ed.

Co-Ed Sports Camps

All Sports Day Camp

Dates: June 25-29, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Grades: 1-5
Cost: $500

Camp Description: This camp is a week long camp designed to give the campers a varied sport and activity experience. Campers will be participating in sports such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, soccer, football, kickball, picnic games and more! Our staff will consist of Presentation students who will help our campers have fun while learning new sports and activities. Water and snacks will be provided but please pack your camper a lunch each day. We do ask that you keep your lunch nut free. Basketball

Dates:
Session 1: June 11-14, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Session 2: June 18-21, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Grade Range: 4-6

Camp Description: This camp will focus on the fundamentals of Basketball with individual and team skill development. Ball handling, shooting, footwork, defense, passing are some of the skills that will be covered. Proper basketball attire is required.

Diving Camp

Camp Dates: July 9-12, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Camp Description:
Ages 6 & up. Participants will be shown and instructed how to perform all 5 categories of springboard diving ( front, back, reverse, inward and twisting). Also, positions that dives can be performed in will be demonstrated (tuck, pike and straight). No previous diving experience needed, however, they should be comfortable in deep water (7-13’ deep). This program is great for those just starting out or to gain more hands-on experience. Participants will be grouped according to their ability level, ranging from beginners thru experienced divers.


Field Hockey

Dates:

  • Beginners Camp: June 18-21, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Grades 6-9)
  • Advanced Camp: June 25-28, 3:00-6:00 p.m. (Grades 9-12)

Beginner Camp Description: Presentation Field Hockey camps are focused on strengthening the foundation of athletes at beginner level. The beginner camp will be focused on field hockey athletes who have 2 or less years experience in playing the sport. The Camp training focuses on developing the correct individual techniques to execute the basic skills, on understanding the concepts of the game, and on employing team strategies. The beginners camp focuses on teaching the athletes the correct technique and developing their game sense, while playing small sided games. All camps are available for both boys and girls. Campers are required to wear shin guards, mouthguards and athletic attire.

Advanced Camp Description: Presentation Field Hockey camps are focused on strengthening the foundation of athletes at the advanced level. The Advanced camp will be focused on field hockey athletes who have 2 or more years experience in playing the sport. The Camp training focuses on developing the correct individual techniques to execute advanced skills, on understanding the concepts of the game, and on employing team strategies. The advanced player's’ game-sense and skills are improved by exposing them to the advanced strategies and tactics, while polishing their technical skills. All camps are available for both boys and girls. Campers are required to wear shin guards, mouthguards and athletic attire.

Junior Lifeguard

Dates: June 25-28, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Grades: 6-9
Cost: $200

Camp Description: American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding is designed to guide children entering 6-9th grade in the Fall to the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course by building a foundation of knowledge, attitudes and skills for future lifeguards. Participants are not required to master or perfectly execute skills. They should learn techniques and build stamina during this program. The Junior Lifeguarding course does not certify participants in first aid, CPR or AED or as a lifeguard.

Junior Lifeguarding will introduce participants to:
■ The skills needed for entry to the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course.
■ Communication and decision-making skills.
■ The basic responsibilities of a lifeguard.
■ The basic knowledge and skills required to be a lifeguard.

Before entering Junior Lifeguarding, participants must be able to:
■ Swim freestyle for 25 yards continuously while breathing to the front or side.
■ Swim breaststroke for 25 yards using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence.
■ Tread water for 1 minute using arms and legs.
■ Show a level of comfort on the back by floating on the back for 30 seconds or swimming on the back for 25 yards using the elementary backstroke or back crawl.
■ Submerge and swim a distance of 10 feet under water

Water Polo

Dates: June 11-14, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Grades: 5-9
Cost: $200

Camp Description: Presentation water polo camps teach water polo strokes, passing techniques, eggbeater techniques, shooting and defensive positioning. Campers will learn in a fun environment through drills and use their new skills on a daily basis in competitive game situations. All camps are available for both boys and girls! All levels of experience welcome. Must be able to swim freestyle and backstroke, as well as be comfortable in deep water.

Swim Camp

Dates:
  • Swim Camp 1: June 11-14, 1 - 4 p.m.
  • Swim Camp 2: June 25-28, 10 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Grade Range: 1-9
Cost: $200

Camp Description: For girls and boys entering 1st-9th grade in the fall. Each camp will cover stroke mechanics, team building, dryland training, race strategy and an introduction to springboard diving and water polo. All swim campers should be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle with side breathing and backstroke on their back BEFORE enrolling in camp. They should also be comfortable in deep water (7-13’ deep). Swimmers are grouped according to their ability level, ranging from beginners through experienced swim team members.

Girls-Only Sports Camps

Basketball

Dates:
Section 1: June 11-14, 12:30 -3:30 p.m.
Section 2: June 25-28, 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Grades: 7-12

Cost: $200

Soccer

Camp Description: Presentation soccer camp focuses on the individual technique of the players and it is designed to create a positive learning environment in which each player can develop their self-confidence and stay motivated to reach their peak playing ability. Presentation’s experienced staff will provide personalized instruction in every phase of soccer, with special emphasis placed on proper passing, trapping, shooting ball handling and defensive techniques. Learning is achieved through small sided games and one of the goals is to not only teach the game but to develop a passion for the game of soccer. The camp curriculum will challenge the campers but they will have fun while playing in a competitive environment. All camps are available for both boys and girls and all levels of experience are welcome.

Tennis

Dates:

  • June 18-21, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Grades 6-8)
  • June 18-21, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Grades 9-12)

Cost: $200

Camp Description: The Presentation Tennis camp prepares players for high school competition in singles and doubles. Emphasis will be on their individual technique, footwork, and court positioning. Campers will be assessed on their conditioning and tennis skill levels and drills and games will be conducted according to that level. Campers should be at an intermediate level of tennis. Beginners and/or players with no match play experience are welcome with a minimum number of players registered, please contact Coach Dan Goeriz prior to signing up for camp. Softball

Camp Description: The Presentation Softball camp will focus on the proper fundamentals and mechanics, no matter the level of experience that each player has playing fast-pitch softball. It is the goal of the Presentation Softball camp to make sure each and every camper receives as much one-on-one attention as possible. The camp is staffed with knowledgeable and experienced instructors and will be held at Presentation’s beautiful softball field. Each girl will need to bring the following: Glove, Bat, Helmet, Sliding pads, water bottle.

Volleyball Day Camps - All Grades

Day Camp 1:

July 9-12, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  • Grades 1-6
Day Camp 2: July 9-12, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
  • Grades 6-8 (no club experience)

Day Camp 3: July 16-19, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Course Description: The goal of Presentation volleyball camps is to provide a structured learning environment to develop the athletes into strong volleyball players, while teaching them the passion for playing and having fun. Our experienced coaching staff run the volleyball camps and will teach all pertinent volleyball skills: serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and game play. Campers will be evaluated and placed in a group that challenges their level of play and that will enhance their volleyball skills.

Volleyball: Setter/Libero (defensive skills) Camp

Session Dates: July 9-12, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Grade Range: 6-12
Cost: $150

Camp Description: The Volleyball: Setter/Libero (defensive skills) Camp is for athletes entering grades 6-12. This camp is ideal for athletes who have established themselves as a setter and want to improve in these specific skills. The camp focuses on developing setting techniques for improved execution during game situations. Players enrolling in the Setter camp should be ready for intermediate and advanced skills training. The Libero Camp is ideal for athletes who have established themselves as a defensive player and want to improve in these specific skills for either a defensive specialist or libero. The camp focuses on developing defensive techniques for improved execution during game situations. Players enrolling in the Defensive camp should be ready for intermediate and advanced skills training.

Volleyball: Setters/Hitters

Session Dates: July 16-19, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Grades: 8-12
Cost: $150

Camp Description: The Setter Camp is for athletes entering grades 8-12. This camp is ideal for athletes who have established themselves as a setter and want to improve in these specific skills. The camp focuses on developing setting techniques for improved execution during game situations. Players enrolling in the Setter camp should be ready for intermediate and advanced skills training. The Hitter Camp is ideal for athletes who have established themselves as a hitter and want to improve in these specific skills. The camp focuses on developing hitting techniques for improved execution during game situations. Players enrolling in the Hitter camp should be ready for intermediate and advanced skills training.

Water Lovers

Dates: June 29, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grades: 1-9
Cost: $65

Camp Description: For girls entering 1st-9th grade in the fall. This camp provides the ultimate swimming experience as campers take on speed swimming, springboard diving, water polo and synchronized swimming. All swim campers should be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle with side breathing and backstroke on their back BEFORE enrolling in camp. They should also be comfortable in deep water (7-13’ deep). Swimmers are grouped according to their ability level, ranging from beginners through experienced swim team members.

Academic Course Absences

Because the summer session condenses a whole semester or year of curriculum into a short and intense course of study, students may only miss 1 of the 14 days of a term and still earn course credit. No excuse can waive additional days missed. Furthermore, final exams will not be given early. No exceptions.

Advancement & Remediation

Summer at Presentation seeks to provide students with the opportunity to advance their studies, remediate deficient grades (Ds or Fs). For more information, click here.

Campus Hours

The campus is open each day from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. from June 11-29 and July 2-20. Students are directly supervised during class/camp hours only. No direct supervision is provided during breaks or before or after classes.

Refund Policy


For 3 week Academic classes (those $595 and above): $75 of the course fee is nonrefundable. Refunds (minus the $75) will be given for classes dropped three weeks prior to their start date. Cancellations closer to the class start date will not be refunded.

Academic Prep and Sports Camps: $50 of the course fee is nonrefundable. Refunds (minus the $50) will be given for class/camps dropped three weeks prior to their start date. Cancellations closer to the class/camp start date will not be refunded.
No exceptions will be made to our above policies. No refunds will be given for absences. No pro-rates for missed sessions. Presentation High School reserves the right to cancel any class/camp offering for which sufficient numbers do not register. There will be no charge for classes/camps cancelled due to lack of enrollment.

If you are enrolled in Summer 2018, please wait to submit your request until the class has officially started. Transcript requests will only be processed once at the end of the summer school sessions.
