Katherine has worn many hats in her 13 years at Pres but always placed our students and our mission at the heart of every decision. Katherine has served as our principal through some of the most challenging years our school and our world have experienced. And yet, regardless of the challenge, with her inclusive, solution-based leadership style and constant optimism, Katherine works tirelessly to steward our mission and ensure the best possible experience for our students each day. There are so many contributions to our school to be grateful for; however, her leadership through the pandemic is perhaps the best example of her superb leadership and enduring commitment to the mission, charism and students of Pres.
As you will read in her letter below, Katherine is fully committed to her role through the end of the school year while at the same time supporting our leadership transition to her successor.
We expect to have our new principal in place this summer. The process for identifying Pres's next principal will be inclusive, thoughtful and thorough, guided by our unique all-girls, Catholic mission, vision and values, and informed by input from a broad cross-section of the community.
The search for a new principal is a chance for us to come together as a community and unite to pursue an important objective – to find the best instructional leader to help us build upon our strong foundation and continue to move Pres forward on this exciting path.
We are forming a search committee to guide the process and we have retained Carney, Sandoe, and Associates (CS&A) as our partner for this national search to find the most qualified and diverse slate of candidates possible. Throughout the process, we will balance the desire for transparency with the need for confidentiality inherent in any high-level search, and we appreciate your understanding in this regard. Please stay tuned for updates as we move forward.
Community input is integral and we invite everyone to complete this anonymous survey created by Carney Sandoe to share your ideas on the ideal qualities for our next Principal. The team from CS&A will also be available via Zoom on December 14-15 to gather feedback from community members. Invitations will be forthcoming with specific times and sign-up instructions.
Together with the many faculty, staff, school leaders, Directors and Sisters who have had the pleasure to serve with Katherine, I offer tremendous gratitude for her unwavering commitment, steadfast leadership and profound contributions to the school we all cherish. Thank you all in advance for your support as we embark on the search to identify her successor and we look forward to continuing our heartfelt commitment to our mission in this next chapter of our school.
