These monthly workshops will take place during Advisory Time and Lunch Time and will provide students with a wide range of opportunities to grow and learn about important career skills. Topics will include resume development, designing a LinkedIn profile, developing communication and soft skills and more. Students will leave these workshops with a tangible deliverable to use in applying for jobs or learning more about their career interests and passions.

Students are welcome to stop by Room 16 for one-on-one job coaching with the Internship Director. These meetings can be set up to perform a career assessment, explore summer college programs, prepare for interviews, and more. All students can apply for our on-campus internships that take place during the school year. These internships are with select faculty across departments, from athletics to marketing, and are tailored to the interests of the students. Experiences range from project-based internships for a few weeks to year-long experiences, and culminate with a capstone project and DEEDS On Campus Internship Certificate.

For current Juniors, off-campus internships and career shadow experiences are available during the month of June. Similar to the on-campus internships, Juniors will complete a capstone project including orientation and workshops to prepare them for their work experience. Opportunities will range from a week-long shadow experience to a month-long internship and are available across multiple fields of interest. In the fall after internship completion, students will present their capstone projects at a night-time event and receive their DEEDS Off-Campus Internship Certificate presented by their partner mentor.

Students who attend all monthly workshops and one-on-one meetings, and complete an exploration capstone project will be eligible to receive their DEEDS Experience Certificate. Capstone projects are tailored to your interests and provide an interdisciplinary approach to merge your experiences in the career workshops, in the field, and in the classroom into a social impact project. The Internship Director will work one-on-one with you in designing your project and assisting in completion.

All students attend Presentation’s biannual Career Day where they hear from notable alumnae across a range of fields. The day is a great opportunity to connect and network with others in the Presentation community and hear directly from a wide range of successful alumnae.
