Last year we began an experiment where every member of the school read ONE (and only one) summer reading book.
This year our summer reading committee, composed of faculty, staff, and students, set out to find a book that could speak to the need for more representation and tell a compelling story about resilience and empathy.
This year we are proud to announce our selection of The Best We Could Do: An Illustrated Memoir by Thi Bui Available in Spanish here: (Todo lo que pudimos).
Order here to support local book store Linden Tree Books: They have added a 20% discount for Presentation this summer and you would be supporting our local independent bookstores!
The committee is delighted we will be reading a graphic novel - a non-fiction memoir - that provides “an intimate look at one family’s journey from their war-torn home in Vietnam to their new lives in America.
Your task is to get a copy of the graphic novel (don’t forget about libraries) and to have it read before August 17!
Happy summer reading!
